Most Popular B2B Social Media Solution Survey

We asked the question:

"With all the changes in social media, what's working best for your business in a B2B environment?"

And our survey, that ran from Monday 9th - Friday 13th November which was promoted only via twitter received 3,593 responses.

As expected Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Youtube came out as the top 4:

Twitter has proved that it can reach an extended audience. The Insight account had 200 followers when we started this activity and nearly 18x that amount completed the survey in 5 working day (Mon9-Fri 13). So as a B2B message distribution platform (assuming the right message is being sent to the right people) it is still a powerful medium.

The influence of words in Tweets and hashtags was demonstrated. After each Tweet sent out to promote the survey we had an immediate influx of voters. The votes were directly influenced by the terms and hashtags used. E.g. if we included #facebook then we saw more votes for Facebook. Not earth shattering, but endorses the use of hashtags and highlights the importance of wording to get meaningful messages across.

And finally, we did have the option of entering a social network that we didn't list. We had just the 1 entry here, and if we were prone to listing obscenities we'd share what was enteredwith you. But alas, it will remain a secret with us and the wonderful lone Tweeter who described their unique, if strange, body with us.
